First Class Access Control for elite Bromsgrove School

The Blind Spot

Meet Martin. Head of Security and Events at prestigious Bromsgrove School. Based in the West Midlands, this co-educational school has provided outstanding education to day pupils and boarders from across the globe from nursery to Sixth Form for over 500 years.

When Martin realised that an aging swing gate was leaving the school premises and pupils vulnerable, he started looking for secure access control from a company with comprehensive project management and support.

The Inside Insight

Martin invited the Connaught Technical Team on site to carry out a full access control assessment for the school gate. Product demonstrations helped Martin choose a discreet access pad setup from Paxton.

Due to the location of the gate, we installed vandal-proof locking elements for premium security, and ensured the setup was fully weather-resistant. All supported by modern Paxton Net2 software. Installation was carried out around the school schedule, so boarders and staff were not impacted by works, and safeguarding was maintained by providing full DBS certification for all Connaught staff.

The Visible Difference

Now that the old swing gate has a modern access solution, the team at Bromsgrove School feel properly protected. Gate access is now restricted to authorised school personnel, keeping staff and students safe 24/7.

Martin and his team can access Paxton Net2 software remotely 24/7, which means the school access control can work around a boarding schedule. Replacing traditional locks with a magnetic system allows authorised users to be added and removed easily, with no more worry about lost keys.

The team also have full maintenance included, giving them access to support from Connaught engineers and regular site visits to make sure their access control provides protection for years to come. A first class result for an outstanding school.
