Meet MMP. Made up of 12 GP practices across Birmingham and the Midlands, they were looking for a VOIP system to connect the surgeries and improve patient experience.

Having so many sites working with different systems meant it was difficult to get callers to the right person, and bills were high and complicated.  Traditional PBX systems meant that staff were struggling to work remotely and the impending ISDN switch had lead the team to look for a future-proof solution.

The Answer

When we spoke to staff at MMP, we knew we could help connect the Birmingham based partnership with a VOIP system that would improve their telephony strategy.

With over 1,700 calls per day, the team needed a centralised system which would allow practices to handle calls at a local level, but with the added benefit of being able to seamlessly transfer to any of the 250 handsets in the organisation at no extra charge.

Xelion allowed the team to benefit from flexible features such as centralised wallboards, remote working and call recording, all included as standard in one simple monthly bill.

Brand new handsets were installed across both sites, with softphone and mobile app capabilities to enable remote working where needed.  Installation was carried out around surgery timetables to ensure minimal disruption to staff and patients.

Ongoing support means that any queries can be addressed straight away and modifications can be made either by Connaught or by the team via the straightforward admin portal.

Live call statistics allow staff to manage call volumes, which leads to happier patients and better resource allocation.  A fully inclusive telephony package has lead to streamlined bills, and a cost saving of 30%, which is great news for MMP stakeholders.
